Hello! My name is Drew and I'm the Owner and Artist behind Crimson Events. I've set out to craft live music experiences that cater to every vibe and occasion, spanning from soul-soothing live acoustic performances to heart-pounding DJ sets, concert lighting production, digital photo booths, event and emcee hosting, event decor rentals and more.
It all started in 2001, when I graduated high school and picked up my first acoustic guitar. Prior to that moment, I didn't have formal training or technical experience with music. Only a curiosity to express myself and challenge a new creativity. It quickly became my release. My intrigue. My obsession.
While attending college at Bradley University in Peoria IL, I played guitar every second I could between classes; reading tabs, learning song structure, watching online videos. Practice. Rinse. Repeat. I met other guys on campus with the same addiction and we started a band called Curbside. It was a turning point for me musically and one of the proudest achievements of my life. Over the course of a decade, we crafted two original albums and played hundreds of shows at the most iconic venues and bars around Chicago.
From the beginning, I always loved creative song writing, music production and the layering process. I updated my studio with midi hardware, production software and DJ equipment and suddenly my acoustic band roots evolved into electronic beats. It was a new release of musical expression. Rhythmic and visual. Provocative and exciting. I worked hard at mastering my mixing skills and the art of storytelling as a DJ. It's an intoxicating form of creative expression and I love sharing it with people.
At every performance, I focus on the artistry and creativity of the experience.
My guitar and live music skills transpose songs with a refreshing style while crossing all instrumental and vocal genres. I love to play acoustic versions of songs with my own touch and have an arsenal of covers and originals. I'll even crank it up with electric guitar effects, supporting musicians and the full band when requested. Need something completely unique at your event? Let's make it happen!
My DJ skills ensure songs never sound like the radio. A true DJ masters the art of beat matching, mixing and taking the crowd on a musical journey, jumping from styles and genres, layering beats and vocals. It should always be one cohesive experience and not obvious when one song is ending and another begins. I’ll never play line dances, cheesy games or dress in an empty suit like a lot of the other guys. I focus on producing a modern music experience and have the personality, passion and talent to match. These are the things that make me different.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRICES?
Prices are competitive and depend on the entertainment and services desired. Check our pricing in the main menu and we'll put together a show that fits in your budget.
WILL YOU TRAVEL?
Yes. Travel is included within the Chicagoland area. Travel expenses may apply for destination events.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU HAVE?
We have everything you would need to put on a great show. Instruments, microphones, speakers, controllers, laptops, lighting, amps, cables, cords and backups should anything go wrong. Our add-on packages are completely customizable and we use the best gear from professional brands.
HOW DO I SECURE A PERFORMANCE?
We offer free planning consultation services. When you're ready to book, we require a small deposit with a contract agreement and the remaining balance due prior to the event.
WOULD YOU EMCEE OUR EVENT?
We are fully capable to emcee your event and would be happy to do so. We typically like to keep microphone time limited to intros and announcements to not distract from the entertainment experience.
CAN I SELECT THE MUSIC?
Of course! You are free to decide your level of engagement when selecting music. We will send you a questionnaire and planning form prior to the event date. This will help us get a feel for specific genres and songs you like. Don't care? Not a problem, we know exactly what to play.
WHAT DO YOU PLAY?
Our extensive library has everything you want including music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's - including current pop, hip hop, jazz, latin, edm, country, swing, disco, funk, rock, and more. Our catalog is limitless and if you want something played that we don't currently have, we will get it!
WHEN WILL YOU ARRIVE?
Depending on the setup required, usually 1-2 hours prior to start time. We ensure everything is placed properly in a clean setup and tested before your event starts.
WHAT WILL YOU WEAR?
We always look sharp, stylish and professional to match the elegance of your event. Let us know if it's a casual vibe, otherwise collared shirts for parties and custom-tailored suits for weddings. We also go to great lengths to keep our work area tidy, so we never detract from all of the hard work you've spent making your space look amazing.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes. We carry full liability insurance. Copies of insurance information can be provided upon request.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE?
Learn as much as you can about your entertainment options. The music aspect of an event is so important and will be what everyone remembers. Ask for pictures, videos, reviews, and vendor referrals. Find someone who is genuine and cares about you and your event. Do not settle for the cheapest or easiest option that rushes everything, shows up, plays music and leaves. A true artist will go above and beyond for your event and cater to your vision. It's not about me. It's all about YOU!

We have relationships with venues, owners and promoters plus travel is included if within the Chicago market. Have a destination event?
